Corporation Tax Online

We all remember the Revenue's adverts with Mrs. Joan Doyle of Father Ted encouraging us to go on-line. Well from April 2011 this is going to be the case for all things Corporation Tax (CT) related. Paper copies of corporation tax returns will not be allowed to be submitted to HMRC. Now this may not mean much to you clients, but this might; All CT payments must be made electronically. This will mean no more cheque payments and they must all be done online via the HMRC website here. However, some interesting research has shown that company directors who complain about paying CT can be divided into two classes. Men and women.

Refund Repayments

Few things in life compare to the joy of getting a tax refund. However, few things compare to the frustration of HMRC holding onto that repayment for longer than necessary. Many of our clients have experienced a tremendously long wait to get there refund. In various phone calls with HMRC they have put this down to the implementation of a new PAYE system and the knock on effects of it. Refunds are taking at a minimum 4 weeks to come out. The only advice we can give is don't hold your breath. There isn't actually anything we can do to hurry HMRC. Though we send in compliants and have done in the past, this does not hurry a refund.
